Mina AI is run by Axom.ai Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company no. 17216153), registered office: Flat 4, 117 Sandy Lane North, Wallington, SM6 8LA, United Kingdom. For data protection law we are the controller of the personal data described here.
| Data | Where it's kept | Sent to an AI provider? |
|---|---|---|
| Name, profile photo, height, weight | On your phone; in your account if you have one | Your first name, to personalise replies |
| Menopause stage, age range, symptoms you care about, sleep rating, goals, preferred tone | On your phone; in your account if you have one | Yes, to Anthropic, to personalise replies and weekly reading |
| Faith or spirituality (optional — you can skip or clear it) | On your phone; in your account if you have one | Yes, to Anthropic, only so Mina can be respectful of it when you ask for comfort |
| Symptom and sleep logs | On your phone; in your account if you have one | Only if you turn on “Mina can use my logs”: a short two-week summary (no notes or dates) goes to Anthropic with chats, tips, sleep insights and weekly reads. Without it, a tip sees only the symptoms you just saved, and a sleep insight only that night. |
| Chats with Mina and notes you save from them | On your phone; in your account if you have one | Yes, to Anthropic, to answer you |
| Period days and flow (only if you log them) | On your phone; in your account only if you turn on health backup | No |
| Calendar to-dos, your custom orb image, your reading list | On your phone; in your account if you have one | No |
| Meal photos | Not stored — used only while being analysed | Yes, to Anthropic, for the nutrition read |
| Voice conversations | Not recorded or stored | Yes, streamed live to Google (Gemini) and back |
| Text read aloud, voice notes to transcribe, descriptions for avatar or orb images | Not stored | Yes, to Google (Gemini) |
| Email address and password (only if you create an account) | In your account; your password is stored only as a secure hash | No |
| A random app ID (not your name or email) and how many free messages, meal scans and voice chats you've used this month — only once Mina Plus launches | Supabase, London — counts only, never what you said | No |
| Your Mina Plus subscription status (only if you subscribe) | Apple or Google takes the payment; RevenueCat records which random app ID has an active subscription | No |
| Email, optional first name and phone type (only if you join the beta on our website) | Our beta list (Supabase, London), plus a copy emailed to our own inbox when you sign up (sent via Resend) — used only to send beta invites and launch news, and deleted within 6 months of launch or as soon as you ask | No |
| Name, email, your random app ID and the time you pick (only if you book a call with our team for an extra week of Mina Plus), plus our notes from the call | Calendly holds the booking; our notes sit in a private Google Sheet. Used only to run the call, add your extra week and improve Mina. We only record or quote you if you say yes on the call, and we delete it all within 12 months or as soon as you ask | No |
Health information and religious or philosophical beliefs are special category data under UK data protection law. We only process them with your explicit consent: when you create an account or sign in, you tick one box agreeing to the backup of your health information, and a separate, optional box for your faith answer — nothing syncs until you do, and faith never syncs without its own box. You can withdraw either at any time (Profile → Account & backup), clear the information, or delete your account.
Only to make the app work for you: showing your own patterns over time, keeping your data backed up if you have an account, and generating Mina's supportive replies, tips and weekly reading. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build a profile of you for anyone else, and we do not share it with data brokers.

These providers act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes beyond their published terms. Where data leaves the UK we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses. Our server does not keep a copy of what you send; it holds only your IP address, in memory, for about a minute to stop abuse.
How long the AI providers keep it. Anthropic doesn't train its models on what our app sends and deletes it within 30 days, unless its automated safety systems flag a request as breaking its usage policy, in which case it can keep that request for up to 2 years. Google, under its paid Gemini API terms, doesn't use what we send to improve its products and logs it for a limited time only to detect abuse. We don't record or store your voice conversations ourselves. You can read Anthropic's, Google's and Supabase's privacy policies.
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else email fabian@axomai.ai and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph a meal for nutrition analysis |
| Microphone | To talk with Mina out loud |
| Photo library | To choose a profile picture or an existing meal photo |
You can turn any of these off in your phone's Settings; only that feature stops working.
Mina AI is for adults aged 18 and over going through perimenopause or menopause. It is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). Account data is stored by Supabase with access rules that let each account read only its own records, encrypted on its servers (AES-256), and passwords are never stored in readable form. Backups are not end-to-end encrypted: Supabase and our small team can technically access them, as section 1 explains. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will tell you and the ICO if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Mina AI offers general information and wellbeing support. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. For anything about your health, speak to your GP. In an emergency, call 999.
If we change how the app handles your data we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app about anything significant.
